FEATURE INTERVIEW

This weeks interview is with Jim Campisano, Editor of Super Chevy Magazine. When Jim was a child he grew up reading Car Craft magazine and dreamed of the day he could work at a car magazine. He went to Rutgers college for English with an emphasis on writing. Of course when he told people he wanted to write for car magazines, they said that was "not serious writing". Jim disagreed and thought if your serious about it, it is serious writing. One day he saw an ad in a magazine for a copy editor position at a car magazine and even though he had to take a pay cut he jumped at the opportunity, started his editing job, and never left. Jim's first classic Chevy was a '69 Corvette and it became his daily driver until he almost crashed it.

Jim works for Source Interlink, which runs and distributes car magazines and videos. He started at CSK Publishing, but through multiple acquisitions and sales it eventually became the information media giant it is now, and Jim came right along with it. Source Interlink now owns such magazines as Hot Rod, Car Craft, Muscle Mustangs and Fast Fords, as well as Super Chevy.
