In this episode of Cars For A Living we're presenting the second of two "Bonus" shows that we were given access to record during from SEMA 2012. Specifically, during the SEMA show there are many educational and business development seminars that occur throughout the day, and Dan and I asked to record two in particular that we thought would be good info for our listening audience.
This seminar was a panel discussion that took on a topic question titled "Are Young Enthuiasts Disappearing from the Industry?" This has been a topic that has been brewing for quite some time in the aftermarket ranks. There is a general (but perhaps untrue) mindset that the current young generation are no longer interested in turning wrenches and racing cars, choosing instead to play video games and communicate through text messages. The panel dove into this debate, specifically addressed the following questions:
Where will the next generation of automotive enthusiasts come from?
How is technology changing the way we reach the next generation?
How are we faring in our efforts to compete for the attention of today's youth? Click Here to Read More and Listen to the Show and Sign up for the SPECIAL EDITION Cars for a living newsletter!
